About the Item:

Collaboration is sacred and community mutual aid is powerful! THIRST 2022 is an international collection of 70+ artists joining together to raise funds for humanitarian aid at the Arizona-Sonora Border through art and conversation.

The mission fueling THIRST 2022 is twofold: To raise funds to support Tucson-based frontline organizations supplying humanitarian aid in the desert and to raise awareness of the ongoing human rights abuses occurring at the Mexican-American border, including the destruction of humanitarian aid, border detention conditions, Title 42, and the ongoing ramifications of Family Separation Policies.

Proceeds will be divided between No More Deaths / No Más Muertes and the Florence Immigration Project to support legal and humanitarian aid efforts in our borderlands.

About No Más Muertes/No More Deaths: No More Deaths is a humanitarian organization based in southern Arizona and is dedicated to ending death and suffering in the Mexico–US borderlands through civil initiative: people of conscience working openly and in the community to uphold fundamental human rights. Their work focuses on the following themes: Direct aid that extends the right to provide humanitarian assistance, witnessing and responding, consciousness-raising, global movement-building, and encouraging humane immigration policies. (https://nomoredeaths.org/en/ or https://nomoredeaths.org/es/)

About the Florence Immigration Project: The Florence Immigrant & Refugee Rights Project provides free legal and social services to detained adults and children under threat of deportation. Although the government assists indigent criminal defendants and civil litigants through public defenders and legal aid attorneys, it does not provide attorneys for people in immigration removal proceedings. As a result, an estimated 86 percent of the detained people go unrepresented due to poverty. The Florence Project strives to address this inequity both locally and nationally through direct service, partnerships with the community, and advocacy and outreach efforts.

THIRST 2022 Virtual Shop opens on July 2, 2022 - July 9, 2022, on the THIRST website. Sign up for their emails to receive updates.
