The design on this shirt is taken from an authentic Comanche (Numunuh) “war deed” pictorial from the early 1800’s. A public declaration of his exploits painted on brain-tanned hide for his entire community to see. 

The artwork on this t-shirt is a faithful traditional detail from one of these incredible historical events. The original artifact was collected in the late 1820’s by Jean Louis Berlandier and is part of the oldest and most significant collection of Comanche (Numunuh) material culture known to exist. Famed for their artistry the Comanche of the Southern Plains were masters of complex design.

By wearing this you have a direct link to a powerful event in the history of an unbelievable culture drawn and lived in a sacred way by a Numunuh warrior during the “Golden Age" of our culture.
